Marzena Cypryanska-Nezlek, PhD

Assistant professor at the Department of Psychological Research Methodology at the Institute of Psychology – Faculty of Psychology at the SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Warsaw. Marzena Cypryańska-Nezlek is a social psychologist. Scientifically, she deals with research in the field of dehumanization, social comparisons and temporal comparisons (perceiving oneself in different time perspectives). It analyzes the benefits and losses of comparing ourselves to other people and how we perceive ourselves and our lives in different time perspectives.
She is also interested in positive psychology in the context of sports activity. For several years, she has been conducting research among runners aimed at better understanding and predicting how various factors related to sports activity contribute to improving the quality of life. She is also currently conducting research on the perception and social effects of climate change. As part of his teaching work, she conducts seminars on social psychology, the psychology of social cognition, and exercises in methodology and the use of computers. She is a member of the Wrocław’s trade group for the prevention and counteracting of mental crisis in NGOs.
She also is the author of over 40 scientific publications. Author of the nationwide study “Challenges and threats of work in NGOs and informal social movements”, commissioned by the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights. This study analyzed, among others: the level of burnout, the level of anxiety and depression and their relationship with the level of stress, pressure in the organization/movement, sense of effectiveness, job satisfaction and the level of perceived hostility and experienced violence. The relationship between the level of support in organizations and movements and the level of burnout was also analyzed.
